DBA EIR Romans vs Early Germans - 'Vindobona'

Well, well, well, we have been away from blogging for a long time now.  What's changed then?  We have just been on holiday touring the south of dear old England in the Fazzy mobile & took in a few historic sites.  Amy & I watched 'Gladiator' so on our return....

The year is 180 AD, the place Vindobona somewhere in the Germanic lands.  Amy takes the role of Maximus & the jolly Romans.  Yours truly takes the great unwashed horde of German Barbarians.  A nice slugfest to get back into DBA...  The Romans army comprises of 2 Cavalry, 4 blades, 4 Aux, 1 Bow & 1 Artillery.  The Germans 11 Warband & 1 Psiloi.. Simples!

The Battlefield

Inspiration....

Side view, Romans on the left...

The race to engage...

In range... FIRE CATAPULTS!!

In go the BarBars!!!

RRRAAAArrrgghh!!!

and again RRRaaaargghh!!

First kill for the Germans, but a few recoils...

The Germanic General makes a kill...

The Romans turn, Amy pulls one back, BUT it's another for Ze Germans...

In goes Maximus but he hits a brick wall... boinggg!

It's looking good for the Germans.

Ohh! What a ferocious bunch...

Amy digs deep & comes up with a few good rolls...

Maximus goes for it!

Rahoo! One more kill for the Romans 3-3!

In go Ze Germans....

HA! The dice gods abandon Maximus... A thrashing from the Germans...

A nice battle & Maximus says it all for the Romans!  Hopefully we'll get a few more games played...
