The initial set-up & planned line of attacks.
The Carthaginian Horde arrayed on the hill.
Numidian Light horse advance.
Jacks PiPs are poor, they would be throughout the game.
Carthaginian Psiloi race for the rough ground.
Ooooo Mummy! The Syracusan Light Horse are in for a scrap.
Jack deploys the Syracusan Cavalry.
Back go the Syracusan Light Horse.
The battle develops into two distinct areas, the Infantry scrap in the centre & the Cavalry scrap on the Syracusan right.
The Syracusan Spear is caught deploying.
First blood to Carthage, down go two Spears to Warband!!
The Syracusan king has to plug the gap. Jack retreats the Spears.
The left flank would prove to a very dull affair, Jack just didn't have enough PiPs to exploit it.
The Syracusan's steady the line in the centre & force back the Carthaginian Hordes.
Evens in the Cavalry scrap!
A Gallic Warband sneaks through the woods.
Dum de Dum de Dum........ What's all the fuss about?
Whoops, Warband vs Cavalry, another kill for Jack. General Mago gets ready....
The Syracusan Cavalry is facing annihilation.
General vs General, Jack throws in everything, knowing the end is in sight.
It's no good though, Victory for Carthage!!!!!

Poor PiPs killed Jack in this one, strangely mine have improved during the last few games. Those extra sacrifices to the Dice Gods must be paying off... A smashing little game, you can't beat DBA for these great little battles.
That puts the Romans in the lead of the Campaign, Carthage & Gaul coming next. Whilst poor little Syracuse is in the 'wooden spoon' position. Can Syracuse pull off a dramatic victory against Rome in the next round?
