'Ooohh!' Syracusan Auxilia taking a moment to 'contemplate their surroundings..'
The sound of Gallic shield bashing gets closer.

Hhhmmm, strange one Jack. He stops his advance & waits for the attack.
______________________________
A poor start, but not a disaster. The Gallic Chariot Boys get repulsed.
______________________________
The Gallic Chieftan Virdumarus watches the flank, a lone Warband crosses to field to help.
The rest of the lads get ready to pile in.

Not a peep from the Syracusan Light Brigade on this side of the field.
They would remain static for the rest of the game.
OOOO so close.... The Syracusan King is on the ropes & LOOSES the combat. Luckily for Jack, King Hieronymus has the ROCK HARD ability, a KILL become a RECOIL......
______________________________
On his round, Jack takes revenge & quickly eliminates the Gallic upstarts.

HA HA HA!! Where's the LOOT!!!!
Final view of the field from Jacks side of the table.
Well, well, Jack is well & truly 'Whooped' in this one & he knows it. Spear vs Warband is a tough one. HEY, I can only beat what is put in front of me...... ;o)

I just love the 'mini-campaigns' you are all playing... wonderful stuff.. and great for making sure the younger generals have an appreciation of history.
Obscure question: Is that a GW 'battle mat' you use on your table?
Cheers
Robin
Cheers Robin!
It's a scenic mat that you get from Railway Model Shops. It's cut to shape & glued down to a
30"x30" MDF board.
All the Best mate

Ah yes... and no doubt much cheaper than the GW equivalent..LOL
I use 36"x36" squares of green felt.
Played my first DBA with Humberside extensions yesterday.. ECW.. played very nicely. My Parliamentarians lost the flank to the superior Rpyalist cavalry, and it was all downhill from there as my opponent rolled up the flank of my pike and shot centre..
All good fun until someone gets a pointed stick in the eye...LOL
Cheers
Robin
Good Stuff, The Humberside Extensions are brilliant & they give a great game. The Army Lists are fantastic & BIG help in getting into another period.
Well done to Tony Barr.
Cheers MrF
